Milestones Ranch Malibu where they’ve designed their dual diagnosed residential treatment center in a way that comforts and treats both individuals and their families who have been impacted by substance abuse, alcoholism, dual diagnosis and their related mental health issues. Dual diagnosis, also referred to as co-occurring disorders, refers to people who have a psychological or behavioral pattern that occurs and is thought to cause distress or disability that is not expected as in a substance abuse problem. This is a common diagnosis because many people with psychological disorders go undiagnosed and self-medicate with illegal substances, while others develop mental challenges after years of drug abuse.
