Capt. Larry Smith, author, speaker, and an international airline and USAF fighter pilot, who years ago, made national headline news when he was arrested for possession of narcotics.  Larry was an active commercial airline pilot, with the lives of thousands in his hands daily, and a druggy…. flying that plane high on cocaine!  Larry, clean & sober now, is back flying for a major airline and has written a unique book/workbook/journal that walks us through the process of refocusing ourselves away from our abuses and on to our own personal “flight plan” for life.  Endorsed by Dr. Drew Pinsky.

Writers In Treatment - Reel Recovery

Writers In Treatment board member Robert Downey Sr. and CAADAC certified W.I.T. Chairman Leonard Buschel about their role in facilitating zero interest loans for writers to get into treatment, they’re joined by funny man Rich Shydner, co-founder of Yuckaholics, and expert film critic & film historian Vernon Scott who reviews essays about films on alcohol and drug abuse.  During the “Reel Recovery” series Nada Pourang interviews the screen writers to find out what there were thinking when they wrote their films and Debbie Berlin, Producer of the Reel Recovery series, talks about getting distribution deals for film festivals and trial releases.  Writers In Treatment is a non profit organization that offers referral and intervention services.  Their trained staff evaluates the situation, suggest crisis intervention and offers referrals to local and national organizations.   All “Reel Recovery” screenings will be held at:

This show is proof that you can live a dream and that positive action cures everything!  His name is Marv “MZ” Silverman, he’s the creator, writer, and producer, of Memphis Rising, Elvis Returns , a move about Elvis being captured then returned to us here on earth.  It all started years ago with dream, and because of his persistence he now has a completed professional movie.  Marv “MZ” Silverman was Born in Philadelphia, PA. and raised in New Jersey where he and his brother performed and sang on stage. He was a standup comic and impressionist, he worked with Jay leno at the comedy store in LA, he’s been an actor, manager and worked in venture capital and advertising.  He started writing this movie in the 90’s and its now premiering in Beverly Hills.
