Southern California Recovery Summit Friday Oct 16th at Loyola Marymount University hosted by their Addiction Counseling Program. The Recovery Summit is fast becoming one of Southern California’s most prominent addiction conferences.  Now in its third year, the Summit has drawn experts in the field from around the country.  This exceptional program is devoted to recovery from alcoholism and drug addiction, presented from many viewpoints, and focused on the experiences of people working in the field. “Recovery” as a topical area is deceptively broad.  Presenters and panelists include psychologists, sober living providers, physicians, homeless services providers, interventionists, social workers and representatives of the criminal justice field.

She received her Certification in Chemical Dependency from UCLA and completed her internship at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where she worked in Addiction Services. Sue Harrison-Haber - Addiction Specialist

Sue Harrison-Haber works with teens and adults as a credentialed State Registered Addiction Specialist, Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor, and Certified Hypnotherapist. She specializes in addiction, and works with adolescents and adults in areas of substance abuse, eating disorders. She has worked in both in-patient and out-patient facilities helping clients with identifying substance abuse issues, and learning recovery tools. Tonight my guest is Marty Steckdaub. Marty has been in the field of counseling off and on since 1979. Marty has been clean and sober some 26 years. Marty’s certifications include Treating Methamphetamine Users, Relapse Prevention Specialist, Anger Management, Domestic Violence , Certified P.R.I.C.E. Parenting, Compulsive Problem Gamblers and he’s a Registered Addiction Specialist.  Marty is the co-owner of the Southwest Family Counseling center in Temecula, CA since 1998. He has been actively counseling Court certified Anger Management groups, Court required parenting classes, and Court referred Supervision monitor, PC 1000 groups and supervising Proposition 36 at his counseling center.  Can someone apply for this prop 36 or is it just mandated through the court? Marty went from drugs and alcohol to gambling, he shifted his addiction.
